What is Hypnosis?
All hypnosis is self hypnosis!

Hypnosis is a natural state of deep relaxation that we all enter multiple times throughout the day—whether daydreaming, watching TV, driving, or drifting off to sleep. It’s a state in which we are highly focused and open to suggestion, allowing us to access the subconscious mind and make lasting, positive changes.

The parasympathetic nervous system, which is activated during hypnosis, is the body’s natural "rest and digest" response. This is the same system triggered during meditation, helping the body counteract stress and restore balance. While hypnosis and meditation are similar in their calming effects, hypnosis goes a step further by engaging "selective thinking." This focused approach allows us to address specific issues and create new neural pathways, leading to powerful and targeted transformation in your life.

You’re always in control during a hypnosis session—contrary to common myths, hypnosis is not mind control, but rather a cooperative process that requires your willingness and commitment to succeed. Hypnosis has been defined as "the ability to experience suggested alterations in physiology, sensations, emotions, thoughts, or behavior," making it an effective tool for addressing a variety of issues such as:

  • Smoking cessation

  • Weight management

  • Reducing anxiety and depression

  • Insomnia relief

  • Managing chronic pain

  • IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)

I tailor each hypnosis session to your individual needs after a brief consultation, ensuring that the approach aligns with your personal goals. Depending on the situation, I may also incorporate other healing modalities to maximize the effectiveness of the session.

Why Hypnosis Works

Hypnosis is highly effective because it taps into your subconscious mind—the area where your habits, beliefs, and emotions reside. By relaxing deeply and entering this state, you can reprogram outdated or harmful patterns, and replace them with positive, empowering thoughts. This process helps you create new neural pathways in the brain, opening the door to lasting behavioral change and emotional healing.

What Prevents Hypnosis from Working?

For hypnosis to be successful, it's essential that you:

  • Feel safe and comfortable enough to relax fully.

  • Have an open mind and belief in the hypnosis process.

  • Commit to the process and be willing to do the necessary work to achieve your desired outcome.

Hypnosis is not a magical cure, nor is it mind control. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis, meaning your participation and belief in the process are key to its success.
